Scoreshare Privacy Policy

Hi! I’m Steven, the solo developer behind ScoreShare — an app designed to make it easy for parents and teams to track football (soccer) games.

I value simplicity and privacy. This policy explains what data is handled when you use ScoreShare, how it’s used, and what choices you have.

1. Game Data You Enter
When you use ScoreShare, you may enter:
• Team names
• Player names (optional)
• Scores and goals
• Game timing information

By default, this data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad.

ScoreShare does not automatically sync or back up your games, and the data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to share a game (see below).

2. Sharing a Game
ScoreShare allows you to explicitly share a game with others.

When you share a game:
• The game is uploaded to a secure cloud database.
• A private sharing link is created.
• Only people you send this link to can view the game.
• Shared games are not publicly searchable.

Data included in a shared game

Only the following information is shared:
• Team names
• Score and game progress
• Goals and timing
• Player names only if you entered them yourself

Your personal identity, name, email address, or device information is never shown to people following the game.

3. Cloud Storage & Security

Shared games are stored using Firebase, a cloud service provided by Google.
• Each shared game is protected by access rules.
• Only you and people with the sharing link can access it.
• Game data is not sold, monetized, or used for advertising.

4. Analytics

ScoreShare uses Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage analytics.

This helps me understand:
• Which features are used
• How the app is performing
• How to improve usability and reliability

These analytics:
• Are not used for advertising
• Are not linked to your identity
• Do not track you across other apps or websites

5. Support & Contact

I receive:
• Your name (if provided)
• Your email address
• The message you send

This information is used only to reply to you or provide support and is not shared with anyone else.

6. Data Storage & Retention
• Local game data remains on your device until you delete it.
• Shared games remain available until you stop sharing or delete the game.
• Support messages are kept only as long as needed to respond.

7. Sharing Outside the App

If you share scores or links using services like iMessage or WhatsApp, that sharing is handled by those services. ScoreShare does not see or store that communication.

8. Personal Data

ScoreShare does not require:
• An account
• Registration
• An email address
• A username

ScoreShare does not collect:
• Location data
• Contacts
• Advertising identifiers

Entering player names is optional and fully under your control.

9. Children’s Privacy

ScoreShare is designed for parents, coaches, and teams — not specifically for children.

The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Any player names entered are provided voluntarily by the user.

10. Your Rights (GDPR)

As a European developer, I comply with GDPR.

You have the right to:
• Request access to your personal data
• Request correction or deletion of data I may hold (e.g. support emails)
